Meghan Markle’s best friend Yanina Gavankar apparently enjoyed what Chris Rock said about the Duchess while filming her Netflix show.
The “Vampire Diaries” actress, who is a staunch defender of Prince Harry’s wife Meghan, was on the live taping of Chris Rock’s blockbuster show on Saturday night and laughed when the comedian offended the Duchess, Page Six reports.
The 42-year-old witnessed Rock make history at the streaming service’s first live global event at Baltimore’s Hippodrome Theatre. The actress joined her good friend Dave Chappelle backstage to watch the VIP Green Room show.
“Janina seemed to enjoy the show very much, she stood next to the TV screens and laughed,” said one of the witnesses.
During his set, the Rock Sussexes, 58, mocked the 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, in which they claimed they were “concerned” about how “dark” their baby could be before the birth of the unknown royal’s son, Archie. The comic joked that Markle was dealing with some “in-laws”.
“Who is this girl named Meghan Markle?” Sounds like a nice lady – just complaining. Didn’t he enter the easy lottery?” Rock said before launching into his diatribe, calling the royals “representatives of racism.”
