Mumbai International Airport named the best airport in the Asia-Pacific region in the category “over 40 million passengers” | Aviation news

Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CMIA) has been recognized as the ‘Best Airport for over 40 million passengers’ in Asia Pacific 2022 by the Airports Council International (ACI) Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards. CSMIA has been named “Best Airport” for six consecutive years. The ASQ Awards are highly regarded in the airport industry as they are based on passenger feedback.

Additionally, Mumbai Airport has commissioned a Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (VAWT) and Solar PV system for the first time. This comes as part of the airport’s transition to using 100% sustainable green energy. In addition, electric vehicle (EV) fast charging stations have been installed at the airport and more than 45 electric motors have been introduced.

The airport also opened a newly renovated General Aviation Terminal for private jets and redefined luxury travel through Mumbai. In addition, CSMIA has launched “FASTag parking” for convenience and reduction of dwell time in the parking payment system.
