Chris Rock didn’t pick up a Netflix comedy special for 58-year-old comedian Jada Pinkett Smith, who had completely different reasons for holding her shows in Baltimore.
A close source before that Gotham Alum said People that Rock is “broken [Jada] and this has been going on for almost 30 years.” The source continued: “Look at where she chose to shoot her Netflix special. His birthplace [of Baltimore]. He thought about it.”
Now an insider has denied the claims Sixth page About Rock’s crush on Jada.
“[He] He performed there five times last year and he loves the audience,” explained the source.
“The choice of venue is not because Chris has been infatuated with Jada for ’30 years.’ Because he feels comfortable in the venue and in the audience.”
Rock attended last year’s Academy Awards in his comedy special. He made a joke about Pinkett Smith’s shaved head while presenting the award at the 2022 Academy Awards.
After the joke, Pinkett Smith’s husband, Best Actor nominee Will Smith, came on stage and slapped Rock.
In a recent stand-up special, the comedian revealed that Pinkett Smith “started” the scandal in 2016.
The Rock claimed that Jada deserved to be teased, saying that he started it and that he was just acting.
“I made jokes about him. Who gives a f—? It’s like, ‘He starts, I finish,'” Rock said. “That’s what happened. No one is picky about it—-h. He started this —. No one chose him.”
The source also told the outlet that she was “surprised at how many times Chris used the word b—-h to refer to Jada.”
However, the actress is not afraid of Rock’s punches. “Jada is currently focusing on her book, which is coming out this year,” they said.
