The UP administration had earlier declared March 7 and 8 as Holi holidays. Due to high demand, the government declared March 9 as a holiday as well
The Uttar Pradesh (UP) Board of Basic Education has declared a holiday on Thursday, March 9 in commemoration of Holi Purnima. According to the directive, every school under the Uttar Pradesh Board of Basic Education or a recognized basic school will be closed on March 9 on the occasion of the festival.
The administration had earlier declared March 7 and 8 as Holi holidays. Due to high demand, the government declared March 9 as a holiday as well. UP Department of Basic Education has also issued a notification in this regard.
The Department of Basic Education, Uttar Pradesh tweeted an announcement saying, “There will be a holiday on the occasion of Holi on March 9, 2023 in schools of the Uttar Pradesh Board of Basic Education.”

2023 Holi will be celebrated on March 6 and today, March 7 in Maharashtra. But except Maharashtra, the rest of the country celebrates Holi on March 8.
The class 10th and 12th exams in Uttar Pradesh were concluded on 3rd and 4th March. UP Board Class 10th and 12th results are likely to be declared in the month of May. However, the authorities did not publicly announce the exact date of the results.

This year, with strict vigilance and punitive measures, the Uttar Pradesh police have nabbed a number of teams involved in cheating during the UP board exams. UP police nabbed 65 impersonators across the state in February. A total of 34 students were arrested for cheating during the UP Board Exam 2023. According to board secretary Divyakant Shukla, the UP police have nabbed 50 percent of these impersonators from Gazipur and Balia districts.
