Seth Rogen talks about the “destroying” effect of negative reviews

Seth Rogen spoke candidly about the movie reviews in a mental health discussion on the “Diary of a CEO” podcast.

The comedian told host Stephen Bartlett that the negative comments were “devastating”. “I think if a lot of critics knew how painful it is for the people who made the things they’re writing about, they’d second-guess how they wrote those things,” Rogen said.

“It’s devastating. I know people who have never recovered from it – a year, decades of damage [film reviews]. It’s very personal… It’s very painful when you talk about your personal image being institutionalized, and it’s something that people carry with them, literally, their whole lives, and I can understand why. It’s horrible.”
