Disney CEO Bob Iger recently revealed that there will be “a lot of news” in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
During a recent appearance at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media and Telecom conference this week, Iger was asked if Marvel would pursue multiple sequels for individual characters. Independent.
To which Iger responded, “General movies have generally worked well for us.”
“Like, do you need a third and a fourth? Or is it time to turn to other characters?’ said the 72-year-old man.
“There’s nothing wrong with the Marvel brand,” Iger noted.
“I think we have to look at what characters and stories we’re exploring, and if you look at Marvel’s trajectory over the next five years, you’re going to see a lot of innovation,” Iger said.
Disney’s Iger added: “We’ll be back The avengers franchise, but with a completely different set The avengers.”
Iger commented following the disappointing box office performance of the MCU film, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Mania.
Officially, the film dropped 69 percent at the box office in its second week, “marking the second biggest drop in Marvel history.”
