Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have announced that their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibeth, will use their royal titles.
Royal expert Christine Ross believes this is the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s way of offering an olive branch to Harry’s family.
A royal expert told the Express: “Having the title Lilibeth has enjoyed since King Charles ascended the throne in September will certainly change her life as an individual.”
co-host US Weekly podcast Royally Us said the new title “may affect” Lilibeth’s relationship with the royal family in the future.
“It’s like an olive branch from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to keep in touch with Prince Harry’s family. Or they may try to reconcile,” he added.
Finally, ending speculation over whether the Sussexes’ children will receive their titles, a spokesperson for the couple announced that they have been christened “Princess Lilibeth Diana”.
Following this, the royal couple in California issued a statement defending their children’s right to the title as their “birthright”.
“The children’s titles have been a birthright since their grandfather became a monarch,” Harry and Meghan said in a statement.
