Princess Lilibeth was christened on Friday, March 3, 2023, at her parents’ home in Montecito, in front of a rumored 20 to 30 guests, a representative for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle told multiple outlets.
After the baptism, American actor and producer Tyler Perry was also confirmed as the godfather of the one-year-old boy. In December’s Netflix documentaries Harry and MeghanThe Duke and Duchess of Sussex said they had asked Perry to be one of Lilibeth’s parents.
People magazine Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, added that she was with her unnamed godmother.
Although the unnamed godmother is believed to be Oprah Winfrey, the celebrity talk show host, who happens to be the couple’s neighbor in California, has turned down the proposal.
When asked about the prospect of Lilibeth becoming godmother, she said, “I don’t need to be a godmother, I’m a godmother by default.”
“I’m a neighbor, I’m a friend, and all that, maybe you need someone younger to be your godmother!”
