Even after all their antics against the royal family, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry haven’t won over Hollywood, as support for the couple has plummeted following a Netflix documentary and Harry’s intimate memories.
The decline in popularity of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in the US comes despite being partnered with celebrities in a Netflix documentary. Icons including Serena Williams and Tyler Perry mentioned Beyoncé in the latest episode.
After stepping down as royals in 2020, Meghan and Harry have had the opportunity to “raise themselves” in Hollywood.
Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield recently told Fox News: “I think Harry and Meghan have had a great opportunity to elevate themselves and actually become Hollywood royalty, but their decency makes people think twice about the association.”
The Sussexes, insiders say, are worried that some comedians will make fun of them at the 95th Academy Awards tonight.
Harry and Meghan can easily become the subject of many jokes because they have made themselves easy targets. That effect may also play out during Sunday’s Oscars.
No one knows how many comedians will attend the event, but Jimmy Kimmel is already the host and he probably won’t miss an opportunity to poke fun at Harry and Meghan.
