What is this new electric cargo bike?
The new electric cargo bike is called the Mate SUV, and it originally appeared in 2016 as an inexpensive folding e-bike. Now it has been redesigned and it promises the comfort of a car and the agility of a bike. It was originally developed in Copenhagen, known as a bicycle-friendly city, with more families preferring to use bicycles than cars.
The Mate SUV’s 250W motor can reach a top speed of 16 miles per hour and can travel up to 62 miles on a single battery charge. It comes with integrated front and rear lights and LED lights that frame the front box. It also has features like location tracking, unknown “anti-theft protection” and a USB port to power the phone. You can add accessories to this bike, including a child seat, off-road tires and an all-weather roof.

The electric cargo bike is manufactured in Italy and sold in the UK and Europe. However, there is no word yet on when it will hit the streets of the US. (Friend)
How much does the Mate SUV cost?
The initial cost of the Mate SUV is huge. Over time, the average annual cost of a bicycle will be less than that of an actual car. A typical car costs about $10,000 annually to own and operate, while the starting price for the Mate SUV will be about $6,900 when it goes on sale in September 2023. It is manufactured in Italy and sold in the UK and Europe, though not available. It is not yet known when it will be released in the US. With gas prices skyrocketing, think how much we could save at the pump.
