The Council recognizes that a number of students on undergraduate programs do not speak the language of their choice.

Delhi University (DU) on Friday advised candidates to go through the syllabus of all programs before choosing their preference for admission through CUET UG 2023, as several university students admitted that they do not know the language of their choice.

In an advisory for candidates seeking admission in DU colleges, the university said in the last academic session that candidates chose programs with the aim of getting into a particular college, even if they had no prior knowledge or qualification to pursue the program and field. study.

Advising depends on the fact that several undergraduate students admit that they do not know the language of their choice. They also wrote several letters to the university to get permission to change the subjects.

“The University has observed that applicants sometimes select Programs with the aim of entering a particular college, regardless of having any prior knowledge or qualifications required to pursue the programme/field of study.

“For example, a working knowledge/proficiency in reading and writing in a particular language may be a prerequisite for pursuing a particular language-related program,” the university said in a statement.

The university has reiterated that the students aspiring to DU must appear for CUET(UG)-2023 and also complete the Common Seat Allocation System B.Sc. While filling the CSAS (UG)- 2023 form, candidates should give preferences for program and college combination.

“It is important to note that Delhi University admissions are strictly based on CUET merit score and preferences selected by candidates. After being admitted to any Programme, admission/enrollment will not be changed during the course of study,” the notification said.

“Therefore, candidates are advised to go through the syllabus of all the programs they wish to join in the university, if offered, before granting privileges on the CSAS(UG) 2023 portal,” the university said.
