2023 Oscar host Jimmy Kimmel is in hot water after he approached Nobel Peace Prize winner and education activist Malala Yousafzai and asked her opinion on Harry Styles and Chris Pine.
The 25-year-old human rights activist attended the 95th Academy Awards on Sunday as executive producer of “Stranger at the Gate,” which is up for Best Documentary Short.
Kimmel, 55, asked Malala from her seat in the audience at the Dolby Theater for her predictions about the beef between “Don’t Worry Darling” co-stars Chris and Styles.
When Malala was seated, Kimmel said, “Your work for human rights and education for women and children is inspiring.”
“As the youngest Nobel laureate in history, do you think Harry Styles spit on Chris Pine?” I asked. he asked.
“I’m only talking about peace,” Malala replied. “You know what, that’s why you’re Malala and nobody else,” Kimmel said before quickly moving on.
Her response was praised as many viewers praised her reaction on social media.
“Imagine talking to Malala and you ask her what she thinks about Harry Styles and Chris Pine…crazy,” said one Twitter user.
“Ok but did @jimmykimmel seriously just ask @Malala about Harry Styles spitting on Chris Pine? Her response was so cool and perfect,” a third person tweeted.
