Elton John praised Levitating singer Dua Lipa on the red carpet at John’s 31st Annual Academy Awards on Sunday.
In 2021, the duo collaborated Cold Heart (PNAU Remix)while talking PEOPLE on Sunday, the 75-year-old music icon revealed that Lipa didn’t need his guidance when they collaborated on the song.
“He really didn’t need much advice,” John said. “He’s so smart and he’s so grounded and so close to what’s going on. It’s a pleasure to be with him.”

John and her husband, David Furnish, first met Lipa at an AIDS Foundation event, then went to dinner with the pop star, where they came up with the idea of working together.
A duet song that is an updated version of John’s 1972 classic rocket man gave the singer her first UK chart topper in 16 years.
Cold Heart (PNAU Remix) also peaked at number 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States, reaching number 1 in their native England.
The song also marked the first single from John’s collaborative album, Locking sessions.
Last year, Cold heart hitmakers have also joined forces Diversity issue, they talked about their relationship and how the stars brought them together in the studio.
“I love her. She’s incredibly talented — absolutely amazing — and so professional. It’s a pleasure to be around someone so young, so accomplished and so humble,” John said of Lipa. “He’s a lot of fun too, and we’re on like a house on fire.”
