Meanwhile, Chief Minister N Rangasamy told reporters today that the government has directed the police department to crack down on ganja peddlers and keep a close watch on the sale of ganja and other drugs in the Union Territory.

“Also, we will set up a separate wing in the police department to deal with the crime of selling ganja here,” he said.

Talking about the spread of Influenza A virus (H3N2) in the Union Territory, Rangasamy said there was no need to panic. “Government hospitals and primary health care centers have separate cabins to treat flu patients,” the Prime Minister said, adding that all hospitals are fully equipped to meet any need.
