Kelly Clarkson recently opened up about how her kids feel about her split from Brandon Blackstock.
He spoke on the last series Angie Martinez IRL podcast, ex American Idol The winner said that he talks to his children every day and asks them to share their feelings.
“Every night I ask my children, ‘Are you happy?’ And if it’s not you, what can make you happy?” said the 40-year-old man.
Kelly admitted: “Sometimes they say, especially the last two years, and it kills me and I want them to be honest, so I never say, ‘Oh my God, don’t tell me that,’ but a lot of times, I say, ‘You know, I’m really sad. I want my mother and father to be in the same house.”
“I am raising such a person. I want you to be faithful to me,” the singer said.
Kelly said they were hard to listen to, but she understood because she grew up with divorced parents.
“I just sit there and I’m like, ‘I got it. I also come from a divorced family. I understand. It’s horrible. But we will solve it. We both love you,” explained the singer.
Kelly went on to say, “I think dealing with them and not treating them like adults, because they’re not — but not treating them like children.”
“They are not small feelings. It’s a big feeling and it’s a big emotion,” he added.
For those who don’t know, Kelly parted ways with Brandon in 2020.
