Reliance Jio 5G network is now available in 365 cities, adding 34 more cities

Reliance Jio Infocomm has added 34 more cities, including eight from Tamil Nadu, to its True 5G network, taking the total number of service offerings to 365.

Ambur, Chidambaram, Namakkal, Pudukottai, Ramanathapuram, Sivakasi, Tiruchengode and Villupuram and Puducherry in Tamil Nadu were covered in the latest round of network connectivity exercise conducted by the telecom major on Wednesday.

In January, 5G services were officially launched in Coimbatore, Madurai, Tiruchirappalli, Salem, Hosur and Vellore in addition to the existing facility in Chennai. The company said it has invested Rs 40,446 crore in Tamil Nadu.

Commenting on Wednesday’s launch, a spokesperson said, “We are delighted to have launched Jio True 5G services in 34 additional cities, taking the total to 365 cities.” “Jio has achieved this milestone in less than 120 days since its beta test launch and is on track to connect the entire country with the transformative Jio True 5G services by December 2023.” Jio users will get Jio welcome offer to avail unlimited data up to 1 Gbps and no extra charges, the company said.
