NEW DELHI: Air India on Friday did offer of voluntary retirement It is the second offer by the Tata Group after it took control of the loss-making airline in January last year for its non-flying employees.
According to the notification, the latest offer will be available to regular general cadre officers who have attained the age of 40 years and have completed at least five years of continuous service with the airline.
Also, clerical and unskilled categories of employees with at least five years of continuous service will be eligible.
The offer will be open until April 30.

In June 2022, Air India launched the first phase of its voluntary retirement offer.
A request has been received from the employees to extend the additional allowance of voluntary retirement to other regular employees. In response, Air India will announce the second phase of the voluntary retirement offer, the airline’s chief human resources officer Suresh Dutt Tripathi said in a memo to employees on Friday.
“Employees who applied for voluntary retirement between March 17 and April 30, 2023 will also be compensated as a one-time benefit.
“Eligible employees who apply before March 31, 2023, will get Rs 1 crore on top of their previous compensation amount,” it said.
The first phase of the voluntary retirement offer covered flying and non-flying employees. About 4,200 employees were eligible at the time, and of those, about 1,500 opted for the offer, sources said.
In September last year, Air India announced a transformation plan for Vihaan.AI, which focused on various goals to be achieved over a period of five years.
The plan aims to put Air India on a path of sustainable growth, profitability and market leadership.
