Babar Azam became the best scorer

Peshawar Zalmi skipper Babar Azam in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) seasonsecond destroyer against Lahore Qalandars at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore on Friday.

Babar overtook Multan Sultans skipper Mohammad Rizwan who scored 516 in 11 matches in this edition.

As Babar scored his 37th run during the Eliminator, his total for the tournament rose to 522, surpassing Rizwan’s total.

This match is also Babar’s eleventh appearance in this edition.

This is the second time Babar Passed 500 runs. He reached this mark for the first time in 2021 in the 6th tournament where he scored 554 runs.

Despite a rough start for Zalmi during the tournament, the team captain seems to be on a roll. Babar became the fastest cricketer to score 9000 runs in T20 cricket yesterday against Islamabad United.

Earlier, in the 27th match of the tournament, the right-handed batsman smashed another 50 — the fastest 50 of his T20 career.

The right-hander scored 73 off 39 balls to help Zalmi post 242-6 in 20 overs. It was also his 83rd 50+ in T20s.

Two days ago, in the 25th match of the tournament, Babar also achieved another milestone. The skipper scored his maiden PSL century.

Babar silenced his critics by scoring 115 runs at a strike rate of 171.66 in the match against Quetta Gladiators at the Pindi Cricket Stadium. His knock consisted of 15 fours and three maximums.

In PSL alone, the national team skipper has scored 2935 runs in 77 innings played since the inaugural season of Pakistan Premier League. Although Babar has a ton to his name, he has smashed it this season – scoring 28 fifties till date.

Babar smashed 323 fours and 46 sixes in his PSL season.
