Ben Affleck recently explained to DC Studios head James Gunn why he won’t be directing DC movies.
“I wouldn’t direct something for James Gunn DC. Absolutely not,” Affleck said in a new interview The Hollywood Reporter.
Affleck continued: “I have nothing against James Gunn. Nice guy, I’m sure he’ll do a great job.”
“I don’t want to get in the way of what they’re doing. I am not interested in it,” explained the actor.
while talking about Justice LeagueAffleck said the film “got a bit repetitive and boring for me”.
When asked what went wrong with 2017’s Justice League, Affleck replied: “You could teach a seminar on all the reasons why it shouldn’t be done.”
While Zack Snyder’s Justice League received a positive reception from fans, the whole experience turned Affleck away from directing a superhero movie.
“I was going to lead batman, and Justice League forced me to leave. I quit. I never want to do any of this again. I don’t fit in,” said the actor.
Affleck added: “It was the worst experience I’ve ever had in a business full of some weird experiences. It broke my heart.”
