OCI and PIO candidates will be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2023 directly without appearing for JEE Main 2023.
The registration fee has been revised for Overseas Indian/Origin of India (OCI/PIO) students appearing for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced. As per the new guidelines, the fee for OCI/PIO category students is the same as that for Indian citizens. The decision was made in Anushka Rengunthwar & Ors. The decision by the Union of India and Ors prompted an emergency meeting of the Joint Admissions Committee of the exam earlier this month. The board also made a statement in this regard. This year’s JEE Advanced exam will be conducted by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati.
Candidates from OCI/PIO category can appear for JEE Advanced 2023 without appearing for JEE Main 2023, this event is announced only this year. One thing aspirants should keep in mind is that the eligibility criteria will be as announced earlier.
“Eligibility conditions for Overseas Indian Citizen/Person of Indian Origin (OCI/PIO) candidates will remain as announced earlier i.e. they will be eligible to appear for JEE (Advanced) 2023 directly without appearing for JEE (Main) 2023. 2023. Further, the press release said that OCI/PIO candidates who meet the requirements of JEE (Advanced) 2023 are eligible to compete for Open category seats under General and Persons with General Disabilities (PwD) categories. Eligible Female OCI/PIO candidates who have passed the examination will also be considered for the surplus vacancies of Women in General-PwD and General categories, as and when required.
JEE Advanced 2023 registration will start from April 30. Candidates can visit the JEE Advanced website and register by May 7. The website allows candidates to pay the fee till May 8.
JEE Advanced 2023 hall ticket will be available from 29th May to 4th June. The exam will be held on June 4 in two shifts. JEE Advanced 2023 Paper 1 will be held from 9.00 AM to 12.00 PM and Paper 2 from 2.30 PM to 5.30 PM.
